Itinerary summary:
Day 1:
You will arrive to Arequipa and check-in in your hotel
Day 2:
You will start your trip to Arequipa with a hands-on experience in which you will visit the most important market in the city and learn how to prepare dishes and drinks of Arequipa’s cuisine from the hand of a “picantera” (a local traditional cook). Then, you will take a walk through the most interesting places of White City, such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, beautiful colonial houses, the Santa Catalina monastery, and the popular Yanahuara viewpoint.
Day 3:
You will visit the Ashlar quarries, a volcanic stone with which many churches and colonial houses in the city are built. After lunch, you will be part of an immersive experience where you will learn about the history of Peruvian chocolate, and will be able to prepare your own! In the afternoon, you will appreciate ancestral fiber classification and traditional weaving techniques live on a visit to the interesting Museum of textile machinery. For dinner, you will enjoy a fantastic tasting menu and pairing experience called “Arequipa’s Monarchy,” in which the chef uses only native ingredients. Fantastic pairing experience.
Day 4:
After an approximately 3.5-hour private ride, you will arrive in Chivay, in the Colca Valley, have lunch, and enjoy an afternoon of total relaxation at natural hot springs.
Day 5:
The viewpoint “Cruz del Condor” is definitely the best place to see the flight of these magnificent birds. A couple of hours later, you will enjoy a delicious brunch at an organic farm, and start your journey back to the city of Arequipa. In the evening, you will enjoy a dinner that combines the best of Andean and Alpine food.
Day 6:
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to your next destination or back home at the proper time.
