Itinerary summary:

Day 1:

You will arrive to Arequipa and check-in in your hotel

Day 2:

This day will be dedicated to exploring Arequipa in depth. First, you will learn about the history of Peruvian chocolate and even prepare your own! You will then appreciate ancient fiber classification techniques and traditional weaving live and visit the fascinating museum of textile machinery. You will have lunch in a “picantería”: a restaurant dedicated to the preparation of traditional homemade dishes. In the afternoon, you will take a walk through the White City and visit places such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Santa Catalina monastery, and the popular Yanahuara viewpoint. Finally, you will enjoy a tasting menu based on native ingredients: an incredible experience with pairing for dinner.

Day 3:

You will arrive at the Colca Valley and take a walk surrounded by nature to the relaxing Hot Springs of this beautiful valley. The perfect way to enjoy the afternoon.

Day 4:

You will visit the “Cruz del Cóndor” viewpoint, definitely the best place to see the flight of these magnificent birds. A couple of hours later, you will be part of an exclusive Peruvian cooking class.

Day 5:

Transfer back to the airport in the City of Arequipa.

Day 1:

Arrival to Arequipa

You will be transferred to your private apartment.

Day 2:

Peruvian chocolate workshop & textile boutique

After breakfast, you will participate in an immersive chocolate experience: you will know the history, origins, and preparation processes of Peruvian chocolate, and prepare one of your own! Later, you will appreciate ancestral fiber classification and traditional knitting techniques in this unique textile museum. You will also be able to interact with Alpacas in a beautiful natural environment.

Picantería

Arequipa's picanterías are restaurants dedicated to the preparation of traditional homemade stews: a rustic kitchen. Lunch will be in one of the most recognized, and you will taste delicious dishes and drinks of Arequipa cuisine in an authentic local environment.

City tour

In the afternoon, you will visit the White City and go through the most interesting points, such as Arequipa’s main square, the Cathedral, beautiful colonial houses, Santa Catalina’s monastery, and the Yanahuara city sight.

Andean tasting menu

You will close the day with an exclusive dinner. Using nothing but native ingredients according to the seasons, the chef has designed a 10-course tasting menu called “Arequipa’s monarchy”. This experience includes drinks pairing.

Day 3:

Transfer to the Colca Valley

After approximately 3.5 hours of driving in a private vehicle, you will arrive at the Belmond Las Casitas hotel in the Colca Valley. There, breakfasts and dinners are included, and lunch is à la carte.

Hot Springs

The hotel offers free and paid activities that travelers can choose and book upon arrival. For this afternoon, we recommend the walk to the magnificent natural Hot Springs of the Valley. The perfect way to enjoy the afternoon.

Day 4:

"Cruz del Cóndor”

Accompanied by a local guide, you will visit the "Cruz del Cóndor" viewpoint: definitely, the best place to see the flight of these magnificent birds.

Recommended: Cooking workshop

To close this day, we recommend joining the hotel's cooking workshop. You will get to know the wonderful regional flavors from the hand of expert chefs and, guided by them, you will be able to prepare traditional Arequipa recipes.

Day 5:

At the proper time, you will be transferred to the airport in the City of Arequipa for your flight back home.
