Day-by-day itinerary

1

Day 1:

Today we will meet you at the Lima airport and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, you will enjoy an excellent dinner at one of the most elegant restaurants, surrounded by history, where a majestic ceremonial center once stood.

2

Day 2:

Food Tour in Downtown Lima

The day begins with a walk through downtown Lima, with the traditional Peruvian breakfast: “pan con chicharrón”. Next, you will visit a charming Franciscan monastery and a fascinating colonial house. Then, you will witness the ceremonial changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace as you stroll through Plaza de Armas and the Lima Cathedral.

We will walk along Jirón de la Unión, one of the most important streets in Lima, to reach Plaza San Martín, where the best pisco sour in Peru is made. Would you like to try it? Lunch will be held at a famous restaurant nearby that delights guests with well-served portions of traditional Peruvian food.

Visit to the Bohemian Quarter, tasting of cocoa and Peruvian coffee

In the afternoon, the bohemian heart of Lima, Barranco, will surprise you. You will see galleries, cultural bars and live music shows in the city. Its neighborhoods, facing the Pacific Ocean, retain the appeal of their architecture.

We will end the day with a sensory quest to discover new flavors. Led by Amanda, an anthropologist and certified cacao and chocolate taster, you will travel to different regions of Peru through chocolate to find the answer to this question: does the flavor of chocolate change depending on the origin of the cacao? Felipe, a certified Q-grader and coffee roaster, will explain exactly how a cherry on a bush becomes one of the most popular drinks in the world.

Day 3:

Explore the varieties of Peruvian ceviche on a journey through its fascinating history and evolution. From the most traditional recipes to the most experimental approaches. Whether prepared on the spot in a local market or in a huarique, or served and seasoned in an award-winning restaurant, you will realize that each ceviche has its own charm.

Start this culinary adventure by visiting a local market to learn about Peruvian products and the importance of their freshness for a good ceviche. Our first restaurant will be a Creole food tavern where we will try their traditional ceviche served with octopus chicharrón as a side dish. Then, at a local cevicheria, you will try a "modern" ceviche, served with avocado and capers. Finally, savor an Amazonian ceviche at a famous restaurant included among the 50 best restaurants in the world.

Day 4:

Our team will welcome you at the Cusco airport, and from there, you'll be transferred to the SacredValley of the Incas. You will start by visiting Pisac, a charming little town famous for its artisanal market. On a nearby hill sits an archaeological complex under the same name, one of the most impressive examples of Inca engineering. From town, you'll observe this ancient settlement ruling over the entrance to the Sacred Valley.

Then, we will take you to a charming colonial hacienda and farm for your first gastronomic experience in Cusco. You will meet Maria del Pilar and Yussef, third-generation producers of giant white corn. They will welcome you into their home and let you come close to farm life in the valley by their side. You will learn firsthand about giant white corn, a crop native to the Sacred Valley (the only one in the world with a certificate of origin!), its harvest, and life at the ranch. Your hosts will delight you with a 4-course meal prepared with corn and other local ingredients. After this experience, we will take you to your hotel to check in and rest.

Day 5:

Have you ever dreamed of traveling through the Peruvian Andes on a train inspired by the exclusive Pullman carriages of the 1920s? The Hiram Bingham train not only makes this possible, but also transforms an already magical journey into an unforgettable experience, with personalized service that caters to every detail.
During the journey, you can enjoy  the sophisticated dining car, the bar car, and the observatory car, where you can share a Peruvian cocktail and enjoy live local music shows. Lunch be served onboard.

Upon arriving at Aguas Calientes station, your visit to Machu Picchu will begin with a half-hour bus ride to the citadel for a guided tour that typically lasts three hours. There, you will enjoy breathtaking views and learn about Andean life, stepping back in time.

In the afternoon, you will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to board the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo station. From there, your private transportation will take you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

6

Day 6:

This experience befalls at the shores of Huaypo, a mesmerizing lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains and crop fields. Here you will enjoy water activities such as paddling or kayaking and taste the flavors of the Andean culture in a picnic-style lunch, accompanied by ice-cold beers, wines and "chilcanos"—the magical recipe for an unparalleled gastronomic, adventure, and relaxing experience.

Day 7:

Oca Wine and Andean Potatoes’ Tasting & Lunch

In this gastronomic experience you will learn about the work of a brilliant agricultural engineer born into a local peasant family who decided to make tubers the centerpiece of Peruvian gastronomy. 15 years ago Manuel began working on the organic genetic improvement of the Andean potato to turn it into tubers rich in antioxidant minerals, among other nutritional properties. He has also managed to turn oca (a tuber rich in antioxidants and natural sugar) into an alcoholic drink similar to wine that you will love. Share a home-cooked meal with Manuel himself to taste his wines and his delicious potatoes.

Visit to Moray and the Salares de Maras

You will visit the famous terraces of Moray: a variety of constructions designed to create different microclimates. This masterpiece of Inca architecture is considered an agricultural laboratory. Then, you will visit the Salineras de Maras, where you will see hundreds of natural salt wells that will evaporate over time and leave crystallized salt, a phenomenon that has been occurring for more than 500 years.

8

Day 8:

Accompanied by your private guide, you will visit the San Pedro Market, the heart of Cusco gastronomy, to delve into the wonder of Andean delicacies by tasting tamales, pork rinds, native fruits, cheese and bread, among other flavors.

Then, you will stroll through the city's highlights: the Plaza de Armas, the Qorikancha Temple and the artistic neighborhood of San Blas to access the secrets that only locals can know. After this walk, you will have free time to recharge your batteries with a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, your guide will meet you again to end the day visiting the megalithic Inca ceremonial fortress of Sacsayhuamán.

For dinner, enjoy a 3-course meal at a restaurant famous for its innovative approach to traditional Andean cuisine combined with international techniques.
